The transfer window is well and truly underway as Wolves have seen 2 of their biggest departures in club history. The club has undergone massive staff changes, with Matt Hobbs’s exit confirmed just a few days ago, and Wolves agreeing terms with Vitor Pereira’s old technical director Domenico Teti. It seems as if Wolves are shifting back to their approach from 2019/20, reintroducing Gestifute, and giving the manger more power in the signings department. It’s to be seen how this will impact the window as a whole, however many fans seem to be excited.

With Matheus Cunha’s exit now confirmed, Wolves received a package of €74m for which could rise to €80m. This wasn’t it, as a few days later we received news the Rayan Ait-Nouri was headed to the opposite side of Manchester, for a fee of €40m, which could rise to €50m.

All things considered, Wolves fans were left unhappy with the fees, feeling that the valuations for two of their star players fell short of their true worth. Many supporters took to social media to voice their frustration, arguing that the club should have held out for higher sums to reflect the players’ importance and potential. The departures have sparked concerns about the squad’s depth and competitiveness for the upcoming season, with fans now eagerly awaiting news of potential signings to bolster the team.

However a few million here or there wouldn’t truly change much, and with the heavy hitting outgoings out the way, we can now talk about some exciting players that wolves could potentially bring in this summer.

Evann Guessand:

With what’s probably our strongest link to date, Evann Guessand was linked with a move to Molineux yesterday, and has many old gold fans excited at the prospect. Guessand is a versatile forward, who can operate almost anywhere in the attacking line. In the 2024/25 season, the 23-year-old Nice striker recorded 13 goals and 10 assists in 42 competitive appearances, including 21 goal contributions in 33 Ligue 1 matches. Guessand’s physicality, strong dribbling, and control in tight areas make him a dynamic option to fill the void left by Cunha’s departure to Manchester United. While his goal tally is slightly lower than Cunha’s 17 goals across all competitions, and adapting to the Premier League’s intensity could take time, his reported £25m move could prove a smart investment. With all the attributes to succeed, Guessand has the potential to become a fan favourite at Molineux, offering hope for an exciting future.

Lucas Stassin:

Another exciting name linked with a move to Molineux is Lucas Stassin, a 20 year old Belgian striker from AS Saint-Étienne, who already has Wolves fans excited by his potential. Stassin, known for his clinical finishing, can lead the line or play across the forward positions, offering tactical flexibility. In the 2024/25 Ligue 1 season, he notched 12 goals and 4 assists in 28 appearances, earning a nomination for Ligue 1’s Young Player of the Year award. His physical presence, sharp finishing, and ability to chip in with assists make him a compelling option to operate as a second striker, fitting Vitor Pereira’s apparent vision of deploying two forwards at Wolves. Initially valued at €30m, recent reports suggest Saint-Étienne, now relegated to Ligue 2, could accept €20-22m for his transfer. While his youth and 9 Belgium U21 caps signal a bright future, his limited experience at the top level could pose a challenge in adapting to the Premier League’s demands. With this reduced fee, Stassin could be a smart signing, and his potential offers hope for an exciting addition to Wolves’ attack.

Roger Fernandes:

Through Graeme Bailey, Wolves fans found out that the club was linked to Braga star Roger Fernandes. The 19 year old Portuguese talent has had an excellent 2024/25 Primeira Liga season, scoring 5 goals and grabbing 7 assists in 48 appearances for Braga. He’s a versatile player, able to play as a winger or in the number 10 role, but could also step up as a long term replacement for Nelson Semedo at right wing back, as he’s been operating in the position for Braga consistently. Fernandes’ 12 goal contributions show he’s got the spark and creativity to suit Vitor Pereira’s setup, either out wide or creating chances through the middle. His €25m price tag feels like a big investment for a young player, and the jump to the Premier League’s physicality might not be easy. Still, Fernandes looks like an exciting signing who could take over from Semedo’s runs down the flank or add some flair further up the pitch, giving Wolves fans something to look forward to.

Robert Renan:

Renan has the potential to be an excellent addition for Wolves. The 21 year old has already shown a lot of promise during his loan spell, contributing offensively while holding strong defensively. His prior connection with Wolves’ manager Vitor Pereira, who coached him at Corinthians and personally pushed for his signing, means he’d likely adapt quickly to the team’s style. Renan’s calm ball playing ability and physical presence make him a modern defender well suited for the Premier League’s demands. His experience across Brazil, Russia, and Saudi Arabia highlights his versatility and readiness for a new challenge. Adding him to the squad could give Wolves a talented, high potential defender to strengthen their backline.

These are some of the targets that have been linked to Wolves in the last few days, can can give fans an idea of how the new staff changes may affect potential incomings.
